Sustainability Coordinator, Butler University (Indianapolis)

The Center for Urban Ecology (CUE) at Butler University invites applications for Butler’s first Sustainability Coordinator. We seek applicants who share our passion for creative solutions to issues related to campus sustainability, urban ecology, and sustainable cities. Butler University is a recent signatory of the American Colleges and Universities Presidents’ Climate Commitment (ACUPCC) and is looking to build upon this signing to develop innovative and robust sustainability programming for Butler’s campus, viewing the campus as a living laboratory for these programs. Butler’s Sustainability Coordinator will develop and oversee sustainability programming for faculty, staff and students of Butler University and promote Butler’s campus sustainability to local, regional and national audiences. This position reports to the director of the Center for Urban Ecology and will work closely with Butler’s existing Sustainability Council, students, faculty and staff to help develop and execute the University’s sustainability program.

Coordinator, Recycling and Solid Waste (University of Maryland)

The Coordinator, University Recycling is responsible for the overall management and development of the recycling and waste management program at the College Park campus. In coordination with other campus agencies, the incumbent will evaluate existing waste recycling related policies, practices and procedures and implement programmatic and operational changes designed specifically to increase campus participation and achieve the campus’ established program objectives and sustainability initiatives. The position will oversee the operation of the campus’ recycling center, recycling group, and solid waste group.

Wildlife Program Coordinator (Lincoln, MA)

Description:

The Wildlife Program Coordinator provides leadership, expertise, and commitment to developing and presenting high quality wildlife programming and exhibits. S/he manages wildlife care staff and oversees animal care, participates in day-to-day animal care, is responsible for wildlife acquisitions and dispositions, manages and ensures compliance with regulations, as well as the proper and professional execution of all wildlife programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the veterinary care and health of all captive wildlife at Drumlin Farm.
  • Serves as the key liaison between the wildlife care and education functions.
  • Designs and oversees animal handling orientations for teaching staff.
  • Manages the animal collection strategy and acquisition, coordination of animal enrichment, training of animals for program use, as well as long-range planning and evaluation of wildlife programming.
  • Oversees the design and development of all wildlife collection displays, exhibits, and program materials.
  • Plays a key role in the ongoing assessment of the structure and operations of the Wildlife Care Department to ensure that the operations of the wildlife area reflect a broad and integrated vision for the Education Department.

 

Qualifications: B.S. in Environmental Science, Wildlife Management or related field plus 3 to 5 years of experience working with and/or caring for wildlife. A background in environmental education and at least 3 years of supervisory experience. Strong computer, organizational and communication skills with the ability to work independently, as well as be an active team member. Ability to work some weekend days. Requires First Aid and CPR certification upon hire, as well as successful completion of a CORI and SORI screening. Valid MA driverŒs license, ability to lift 50 pounds and traverse uneven terrain.

Sustainability Coordinator – The College of Lake County (Grayslake, IL)
