Tufts Summer Sustainability Trip (Boaca, Nicaragua)

Looking for a summer internship or something to do over the summer related to sustainability?

This summer, Tufts students have the opportunity to travel to Boaca, Nicaragua and work alongside local students to develop school gardens and garden education programs. The trip is 10 days (May 24–June 2) and will focus on sustainable agriculture, immersion into Nicaraguan culture, and environmental activism. The trip fee is $2,489 (which covers everything you’ll need in Nicaragua, including airfare, food, lodging, and transportation), and we will have regular meetings to discuss fundraising ideas and opportunities. There are 20 spots available. The deadline to register is January 30th and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis, so don’t hesitate if you’re interested!

Sustainability Distinguished Teaching Fellowship, Emory University (Atlanta, GA)

Emory University seeks applications for the Sustainability Distinguished Teach Fellowship, a two-year postdoctoral position beginning in August, 2016. The university is looking for a strong scholar of applied behavioral social science with experience in engaged learning. This postdoc offers a supportive teaching and research position for career development at one of the leading institutions of sustainability in higher education.

Assistant, Associate or Full Professor of Educational Sustainability, University of Wisconsin (Stevens Point, WI)

The successful applicant for this position will assist the School of Education in implementing a planned Ed.D. degree in Educational Sustainability. Candidates will also be expected to teach graduate courses in Educational Sustainability, co-lead the development of coursework for the doctoral degree in Educational Sustainability, and teach undergraduate courses as needed. Candidates will also support all aspects of the Ed.D. including recruitment, student support, advising and mentoring, and service on dissertation committees; and provide leadership in the area of sustainability.

Deputy Chief Sustainability Officer, UCLA (Los Angeles, CA)

The Deputy Chief Sustainability Officer will work to continue UCLA’s leadership in the field of sustainability at the state, regional, national and international level by promoting broader awareness of UCLA’s environmental successes and accomplishments. Reporting to the Executive Officer of Facilities Management (EO-FM) & Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO), the Deputy Chief Sustainability Officer works in partnership with the CSO on the development, coordination, administration, and measurement of sustainability-related programs, policies, and technologies at UCLA. The Deputy Chief Sustainability Officer will effectively work across the university and with all elements of the campus community to communicate and further the goals and initiatives of the campus sustainability program, including Carbon Neutrality by 2025, and initiatives such as the Sustainable LA Grand Challenge. The Deputy Chief Sustainability Officer will work to foster partnerships across the academic and operational areas of the university to continue to develop UCLA as a living laboratory for sustainability.
