Community GIS Project Leader, Portland State University, (Portland, OR)

The Community GIS Project Leader is an AAUP represented non-tenure track faculty appointment at the rank of Senior Research Associate 1.

Principal duties of the position:

• Community geography – engage with communities throughout the Portland region to identify innovating mapping and other data visualizations to serve community needs.

• Provide GIS analysis support for projects in IMS and PRC.

• Possibly teach within the undergraduate or graduate programs within the College of Urban and Public Affairs or in PSU’s University Studies program.

• Contribute to strategic planning for IMS and PRC.

We currently seek a student as a GIS support/technician to join us for the fall semester to work on our coastal flood prevention and climate preparedness work. Job Description: Provide spatial data support to various climate preparedness projects, including some or all of the following tasks: . Customize flood maps for specific Boston neighborhoods.

Environmental Stewardship and Sustainability Internship, National Outdoor Leadership School

The environmental stewardship and sustainability intern will assist the department director, the environmental stewardship coordinator, and the environmental sustainability coordinator with a variety of tasks related to sustainability initiatives at NOLS, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) mapping, community outreach, public policy, and curriculum development.
