Sustainability Program Manager, Temple University (Philadelphia, PA)

The Program Manager is responsible for managing sustainability programming throughout the University. The incumbent will be responsible for coordinating academic, research and technology initiatives and for LEED certification initiatives for campus buildings. The Program Manager will be responsible for moving capital projects through the LEED certification process, which includes working with project consultant teams and senior level management to ensure that the project design and construction meet LEED standards. In addition, he/she is responsible for the preparation of Temple University’s annual Greenhouse Gas Inventory.

Energy Project Manager, West Chester University (PA)

The Energy Project Manager will manage all energy related projects along with some sustainability related projects, identify new energy savings and sustainability technologies, implement new projects which will reduce energy and resource usage, manage campus mechanical and/or electrical projects, continually monitor energy usage and the Facilities Department sustainability efforts; identify areas of high energy usage and its cause, malfunctioning equipment and ensure corrective action is taken; evaluate the energy efficiency of proposed construction, building expansions and/or renovations; set performance standards, develop and write guidelines, procedures and specifications for projects; assist Plant Operations in identifying problems with mechanical, HVAC, and utility systems; management of Campus Energy Management and Control Systems to ensure that they are kept in peak operating condition; manage West Chester University of Pennsylvania’s multi-million dollar utility budget; ensure energy is purchased and billed at the lowest rate; serve as technical consultant on new energy technology and an active member of the University’s Climate Action Planning Team; actively promote energy conservation measures; maintain historical records and train personnel in energy and resource savings.

The Environmental Science Department at Allegheny College invites applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning August 2014.  We seek an individual with interdisciplinary teaching and research interests in environmental science and studies and a strong commitment to undergraduate education.  We are particularly interested in candidates with teaching and research expertise in energy efficiency, energy conservation, and sustainable energy. The ideal candidate will engage students in quantitative lab or field-based classes in energy efficiency, renewable energy, green building, engineering, or urban planning. A Ph.D. and previous teaching experience strongly preferred.
