Come join Tufts in welcoming Anand Gupta, Deputy Manager of Strategy at ReNew Power, to campus on Saturday, March 4 from 3-4pm. ReNew Power is India’s largest renewable energy company, leading the Indian market in total installed renewable capacity and valued at $2 billion dollars.

Mr. Gupta will host a brief lecture on ReNew Power’s operations, growth in the clean energy sector in India, and on the company’s Summer Internship and Scholarship program. This alluring program flies students out to the New Delhi-area to gain 2 months of hands-on experience in Finance, Strategy, CSR and Solar/Wind Project Management. The lecture will be an excellent opportunity to learn more about the development of the renewable energy sector in India and get a first look at an exciting career opportunity. Solar Ambassador Program

Fellowship Description

Are you a college student passionate about renewable energy? Are you interested in taking action to put up solar in your community? If the opportunity to install a solar energy system on a nonprofit or cooperative near you sounds exciting, then RE-volv wants to help you make it happen.

The Solar Ambassador Program is a fellowship for one academic year that gives college students the opportunity to spearhead a solar project in their community using RE-volv’s innovative solar financing model. We are looking for creative, passionate, and resourceful college students who are eager to spread solar across the country.

 Deadline: February  17th, 2017

Requirements

•The team is comprised of at least 3 college students who will still be enrolled the following year
•The team completes a Team Application
•The team identifies a local nonprofit organization or worker-owned cooperative that wants to go solar through RE-volv

•The organization completes a Project Application

The teams and organizations who are most poised for success will be formally welcomed into the fellowship.

Benefits

During the academic year, RE-volv will help teams bring their solar projects to fruition. To facilitate this, each team will select one Project Lead who will be invited to an all-expense-paid Solar Ambassador Leadership Summit held in July or August in the San Francisco Bay Area. This summit will train Project Leads on solar finance and policy, crowdfunding, event planning, communications, and community engagement – all the skills needed to complete their proposed project! Every Solar Ambassador will also be provided with exclusive resources and campaign materials.

During the academic year, all team members will participate in biweekly webinars with RE-volv staff and special guests from leading environmental organizations and solar companies. Topics range from renewable energy to environmental justice, and these webinars will serve as discussion rooms for fellow Solar Ambassadors to share ideas. All Solar Ambassadors will also receive close mentoring and guidance from RE-volv staff.

The Northeast Sustainable Energy Association (NESEA) is now accepting scholarship applications for students to attend the BuildingEnergy Boston Conference + Trade Show on March 8th, 2017. Current voc/tech, college, and graduate students passionate about renewable energy, sustainable building, and high-performance design are encouraged to apply for this scholarship. We are calling upon members of our extended community to help us spread the word to qualified students.

Campus Coordinator Intern, Environment Massachusetts (Boston, MA)

Global warming is happening and we’re seeing the effects all around us — from
dangerous heat waves and droughts to the record snowstorms of 2015. And scientists warn it could get much worse unless we act soon.

That’s why we’re calling on our state’s leaders to repower Massachusetts with 100 percent clean, renewable energy.

But powerful special interests like the utility companies are threatening to stop clean energy in its tracks.

Environment Massachusetts is looking for smart, hard-working students to build the people power it will take to repower Massachusetts with clean energy. As an intern you would be the coordinator for our statewide Student Activist Network at your school. You would be expected to work 4-7 hours per week from campus. There will be 1-2 days of travel to Boston to work with the Statewide Student Activist Network. The position is unpaid.
