Guest Speaker Wednesday, March 4th

lawyerspeakerWe welcome everyone to attend our next guest lecture this Wednesday, March 4th from 6-7PM in Barnum 104. Our guest speaker for the evening will be Paul Wagoner, an assistant district attorney for Essex County. He prosecutes cases related to animal cruelty, and recently argued a case in the Supreme Judicial Court pertaining to whether the emergency exception to the warrant requirement of the US Constitution can be applied if an animal is in mortal danger. This is the first lawyer to be hosted by the Pre-Vet Society, and should be a very interesting new take on animal welfare that diverges from the traditional medical perspective. If you’re interested in law, veterinary medicine, or animal rights, join us for an informative and exciting discussion! Food and drinks will be provided!

Please join us in the Campus Center from 12-5pm this Friday, February 21st for our Vested Interest in K-9s, Inc. charity bake sale! This is a combined effort on behalf of the Tufts Pre-Vet Society and Tufts Animal Welfare to raise awareness and donations for this great cause, which provides bullet- and stab-protective vests for K-9 unit police dogs throughout the country. One vest alone costs $1006 and has a five year warranty, and the organization currently has a list of over 20 dogs in need of vests.  Stop by to say hello, support Vested Interest, and of course enjoy some delicious home-made treats!
