Two great environmental events coming out of Hillel next week in celebration of Tu B’shevat! In case you haven’t heard of it (I hadn’t either), Tu B’shevat is the Jewish new year of the trees.

Tree-Making: Monday 6 February at 7pm. Make trees out of recycled materials, eat yummy and sustainable snacks, and talk about the environment and Judaism. Feel free to bring any recycled materials from around campus (cans, cardboard, bottles, anything really) to decorate the tree!

Sustainable Dinner: Wednesday 8 February at 7pm. A brief ceremony to experience the fruits of the earth, followed by dinner and then a discussion about Judaism and sustainability. All are welcome to attend for good food, fun, and thought!
