We Pickled Today!

We have been having so much fun at the sustainability workshops hosted by the Aidekman Arts Center! Last week was the Uran Homesteading workshop, and today several of us from TSC attended the Pickling Workshop!

We learned steps for different kinds of pickling and fermenting, and each left with two jars of pickled vegetables: one of cabbage (future sauerkraut), and one of mixed vegetables. Pickling is a great way to save and store extra vegetables and fruits, especially for the winter months when fewer things are in season.

Next week is the Urban Foraging Walking Tour, where we will be finding and eating wild plants in the area. ¡Qué divertido!
