August 9, 2014
The inaugural Tufts New England Case Competition (TUNECC), held at Tufts Medical School on August 9th, 2014, featured 18 outstanding teams from 13 top schools across the Northeast, Virginia, and Wisconsin. Represented institutions include: Tufts University, Harvard University, MIT, Columbia University, University of Pittsburgh, Virginia Tech, Johns Hopkins University, Boston College, Northeastern University, University of Wisconsin at Madison, University of Massachusetts, and Boston University.
Participants were challenged with developing a biosimilar development strategy for Genzyme, an innovator of branded biologics. Teams were able to compete for prize money totaling $3,000 while developing their problem solving skills. The event featured a keynote address entitled “The Shifting Value Equation in BioPharma” by Jonathan Kfoury, Partner and Managing Director at L.E.K. consulting. The event was capped off with a networking session and mini-career fair featuring consultants and professionals from leading firms.
The organizers of TUNECC would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to our sponsors for their generous support. This event would not have been possible without sponsorships from McKinsey & Company, TechAtlas Group, Decision Resources Group, The Boston Consulting Group, L.E.K Consulting, Putnam Associates, Tufts Center for the Study of Drug Development, and the Tufts Sackler School of Graduate Biomedical Sciences.
