What if I can’t find the proof of purchase or media for my software?


The University requires proof of ownership for all software installed on University owned computers.  If the software, such as Microsoft or Adobe products, was purchased through Tufts, there may be a way to retrieve the proof of purchase from the vendor.  If you need assistance with retrieving this information, please contact OIT.

If your software is more than three years old, it may be incompatible with a new Operating System (Windows 7 64 bit or OSX 10.7 Lion). It may be best to purchase new software to replace the original.
