Hiring high-quality student staff is one of the most critical tasks of a higher education support center. In this Special Interest Group (SIG), participants will learn about a variety of tools and approaches they can use to attract and keep the best student staff. Topics covered will include: interviewing techniques, discussion of training scenarios, progressive discipline, peer leadership and coaching, and performance evaluation. Attendees will walk away with practical ideas to take home, as well as a renewed appreciation for the importance of high-performing student staff.
