Recently moved off campus? Looking to start cooking for yourself? This semester, Tufts Dining Services sought to make food shopping a little easier and greener for students with the introduction of their first weekly farmers’ market.
After a successful single-day market in October 2009, Dining Services partnered with the New Entry Sustainable Farming Project, a program run by the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy at Tufts, and United Teen Equality Center (UTEC) of Lowell, which seeks to motivate the disadvantaged youth in Lowell toward social and economic success, to provide fresh produce for students on a weekly basis.
As it enters its last week of the season, we took a peek at all the market has to offer. The last farmers’ market of the season will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 27, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the Lower Patio of the Campus Center.
