				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>In the days leading up to Tufts&#8217; World AIDS Day celebration, members and friends of <a href="http://ase.tufts.edu/lgbt/">Tufts LGBT</a> took over the <a href="http://enews.tufts.edu/stories/1613/2009/12/09/CraftsCenter">Crafts Center</a> hoping to make their mark on the world&#8217;s largest ongoing community art project: The AIDS Memorial Quilt. Founded in 1987, the quilt and its more than 40,000 colorful panels, memorializes the lives of those lost to AIDS.</p>
<p>In honor of the actual day, Dec. 1, community health lecturer Kevin Irwin gave a talk on &#8220;The Medicalization of HIV/AIDS: Prospects and Consequences.&#8221; Share in a recap of both these events here:</p>
