Robot Ideas Machine Learning Algorithm Robot
A robot that uses a machine learning algorithm to generate ideas for robots that could be made.
Nathan
The algorithm is a simplified form of Markov Chain […]
-
very cool, what else could you do with this algorithm
-
Interesting! I wonder how you could develop this idea, or maybe make the robot into an inventor’s assistant.
-
I love the last few ideas. I wonder how you could take it to the next step by making something similar to google autocomplete.
-
I need the robot that yells at your brother if he’s touching your things

Robot To Entertain My Dog
The robot is a rough attempt at an automatic ball launcher designed to play fetch with my dog.
Sydney Friedman
The base of the robot is the general build, but the servos […]
-
This is such a cool idea. Did you test with your dog? I like how you used the paper plate as a ball holder and launch mechanism. I’m curious what other kinds of launch systems you explored (spring loaded? Arm?)? Have you thought about adding a way for your dog to load the ball in too?
-
I want a doggo:)) and I know just how to entertain them now..
-
Your dog looks like it’s having so much fun with the robot!
-
I like the incorporation of a speaker along with the device so that not only will your dog be entertained, but you can also hear an audio clue to know when the robot is acting.
-
My dog would love this! Did you try to train your dog to put it back on the plate?
-
is there anything to keep dogs from just taking the ball and not bringing it back
-
Awesome! You could add a treat dispenser to reward the dog when it brought the ball back. I would love a robot to play with my pup!

Automatic Light Switcher
This robot senses when somebody enters or exits the room, and turns the light on/off.
Jimin
I made a robot that automatically turns the lights on and off. It works by using a […]
-
Did the weight of the robot affect the mounting system? How did you deal with the weight when mounting it to the wall.
-
There was a screw under the light switch which was pretty sturdy, so the weight wasn’t that big of an issue when mounting it. I made it more stable by using hot glue.
-
-
This will save me from the wrath of mom
-
This is a great idea. Did you consider adding a feature that lets you turn off the lights from bed?
-
If I had more time, I think I would’ve added a voice activated feature using the loudness sensor to control it from farther away.
-
This is something I was also thinking about! How did you determine the range of distance values that triggered the servo?
-
I set the triggering distance to be less than 50 cm which is the distance from the sensor to the middle of the doorway so it would know when someone is passing through. I also needed a minimum distance because I didn’t want it to trigger when I opened or closed the door. I set my triggering distance to be between 15 and 50 cm.

Automatic door opener
A device to turn my door nob remotely so I can open my door from my bed.
Christopher
I have duct taped the GOPIGO to my door, and am using a motor to pull on a string which […]
-
Cool idea and impressive build! Do you think this could be voice activated? It could be a useful device for the elderly who could have trouble opening doors themselves but wouldn’t require a complete redo of their existing doors.
-
I like your use of duct tape to attach your robot to your door and I also thought the use of your motor was quite clever to to twist the handle
-
This is great! It reminds me of a Rube Goldberg machine but with robotics 🙂
-
I love the extension wire to your bed! I see how this is a very practical way of opening your door to converse with people while not moving:)
-
This is a very good idea and I think it will be useful. How did you extend the wires for the button to reach your bed?

My mom would love if I used this
I need this in my life
This is fantastic! I would give you money for one of these
Comparing the pixels was a very clever way to evaluate posture!
Did the robot ever detect the wrong change in pixels? How did you fix it? This idea was really cool!
This seems very useful and I really like the design!
What a great pal! Does it provide audio feedback?
I love how you’ve decorated it! I can see how that would be useful and even fun to put next to you while sitting (except when it’s yelling at you)
Hi Matt! This is a great project I first off appreciated how you chose to take an issue in your every day life and attempt a solution to this common problem. It was also exciting to see you take the concept of a “robot” and see it beyond a computer with wheels. A robot can be anything and you really put that into perspective with the mustached posture pal. I hope you keep this up and continue to build little helper or fun bots in your spare time! – Phoebe
