This is a very cool and broadly applicable research topic. I’m curious about how the approximation of particles as small hard spheres might impact the ability of the model to predict real world behavior. In chemistry, ideal gas approximations on the molecular level are often visualized with these kinds of spheres, while recognizing that real-world behavior is more complicated because these non-ideal geometries. Does a similar issue arise in microfluidic devices?
