Engineering Design Processes

The objective of this course is to introduce students to the principles of design within the context of the medical device industry and engage the student in the design process. It gives the student practical experience with a wide variety of different aspects of design and product development. An understanding of the process of converting a product from concept through design and deployment will be obtained. The student will learn how to identify unmet needs, invent a new device and subsequent implementation within the framework of medical device design controls.
