Graduate Students

The ideal graduate applicant for our lab is someone with a deep curiosity about cognitive psychology and a passion for scientific exploration. We seek individuals who are highly self-motivated, intellectually driven, and eager to engage with complex research questions in a collaborative environment. A strong interest in innovation and the application of cognitive science to real-world challenges is essential.

Successful applicants will have some prior research experience, ideally in psychology, cognitive science, or a related field, and a solid understanding of our lab’s research topics and methodologies. Experience with scientific writing (such as an honors thesis or research papers) and familiarity with statistical analysis packages and programming languages (e.g., R, Python, MATLAB) are highly desirable.

We prioritize candidates who have thoughtfully considered the commitment required for doctoral training and are prepared to dedicate significant time and effort toward achieving their research goals. Applicants should be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, as our lab values collaboration in tackling common research interests. Those who thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and are eager to acquire new technical skills will find a strong fit in our lab.

Please contact Dr. Ward directly at Nathan.Ward@tufts.edu if you are interested in joining the lab as a graduate student.
