Prof. Barbara Wallace Grossman, Department of Theater, Dance and Performance Studies, is Co-Chair of the Awards Committee.

“Each year the committee considers hundreds of outstanding students nominated by the Deans, Faculty and Staff for coveted academic prizes. The award winners are truly exemplary; their achievements in so many fields and their commitment to academic citizenship is truly inspiring. For the past few years I’ve had the privilege of hosting the academic awards ceremony where we honor all the prize winners and were it not for the coronavirus, this year would have been the 120th such gathering. Although we can’t meet in person as planned, we still want to celebrate the remarkable accomplishments of these impressive students. They’re exactly the kind of leaders we need at this challenging time: People whose vision and compassion compel them, whose quest for excellence is not just self-motivated but meant to benefit the multiple communities they serve. we honor them for all they’ve done at Tufts and we also know that this is just the beginning. May they enjoy a lifetime of meaningful achievement as they carry on the legacy of the awards they earned.”
