The Alex Elias Memorial Prize Winner: Madeleine Clarke

Madeleine Clarke (A20) is a Co-Captain of the Varsity Women’s Crew Team and has earned several scholar-athlete awards while at Tufts.  As an Anthropology and Community Health double-major, with a minor in Food Systems and Nutrition, Madeleine operates at the leading edge of discussions within the realm of food and hunger advocacy and activism.  She has worked on course projects with the Somerville Food Security Coalition, volunteered for the Tufts Food Rescue Coalition, and developed a 40-page paper on campus food insecurity that was a key reading in a spring semester undergraduate course.   

The Alex Elias Memorial Prize Scholarship honors students who embody the qualities of scholar, athlete, and volunteer.
