The Cowdery Memorial Scholarship Winner: Finn L. McGarghan

Everyone who knows Finn McGarghan (A20) agrees on his wonderful positive attitude towards any task he takes on:  When in the lab, he can accomplish the vital but mind-numbing tasks with a smile on his face and with encouraging words to his fellow lab mates. Outside his lab, he goes beyond his academic requirements by visiting grade schools and bringing STEM projects to younger generations, leading the Tufts wilderness group all the way to New Hampshire every fall during freshmen orientation, and as the captain of Tufts Quidditch team, offering opportunities to the local YMCA to teach kids how to play their beloved sport. As a Parliamentarian and long-term service member for TCU, he recently connected the student activists across campus with Tufts administrators to help them accomplish their goals. 

The Cowdery Memorial Scholarship recognizes outstanding academic achievement and personal qualities of leadership and high principle.
