Summer research experiences:
- UCLA Bruins-in-Genomics (B.I.G.) Undergraduate Research Summer Program — Open to master’s students and undergrads. Eight-week full-time immersion program on reading and analyzing genes and genomes. In-person and remote options available. Two weeks of didactics followed by a research experience. Rolling admissions; first applications reviewed in early January.
- Vienna BioCenter Summer School — Open to master’s students and undergrads. Approx. eight-week full-time program (in person) conducting a biology research project. Applications due in late January.
Summer courses that include lab techniques:
- Cold Spring Harbor — Mostly 2- to 4-week in-person classes. Mix of didactics and techniques. Topics span various diseases, experimental systems, etc.
- EMBL — Multiple courses on microscopy, computational bio / data analysis, etc. In-person and virtual options.
- Jackson Labs — Multiple courses related to lab mouse experimentation. Mostly short, intensive, hands-on classes.
- Marine Biological Lab / Woods Hole — In-person lecture and lab courses on various topics in development, microscopy, cell biology, and neuroscience. Mostly 1- to 4-weeks.
- University College London — Multiple didactic and lab courses on various biology topics, incl. cell bio techniques, antibody therapeutics, etc. In person and virtual options.
