Am I Eligible?
For Mothers
18-45 years of age
- Participant identifies as Black or African American
- Participant is in the post-partum stage of pregnancy (from 12 weeks to 1 year);
- Currently resides in the greater Boston area*
- Agree to be audio recorded OR interviewed with the responses being recorded via handwritten notes.
*Specifically greater Boston area include the following cities: Revere, Everett,
Chelsea, Medford, Somerville, Cambridge, Boston, Brookline, Milton, Quincy, or Malden.
For Partners
- A person that is a partner to a Black mother that is post-partum (from 12 weeks to 1 year since giving birth)
- Attended the live birth and at least 1 prenatal doctor’s visit
- Agree to be audio recorded OR interviewed with the responses being recorded via handwritten notes.
For Providers
- Anyone who is a current provider of obstetrical care including medical doctors (i.e. OBGYN* or family practitioners), nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and certified midwives.
- Have provided care for 5+ pregnant Black women/birthing people this past year in the greater Boston area.
For Doulas
- You are an active birth or community doula in the state of Massachusetts and have been for at least 1 year
- Have assisted in the deliveries of 4+ Black women/ birthing people this year in the greater Boston area
