Cellular agriculture offers immense potential to change the way we develop, produce, and think about food. It also offers a unique set of scientific questions and challenges. We believe in drawing on diverse expertise and experience to enable the development of cell-cultured foods that are safe, nutritious, delicious, and affordable. We combine inquiry in cell biology, biomaterials, tissue engineering, bioprocess design, and genetics to build foundational knowledge, tools, and resources for accelerating cellular agriculture research. Ultimately, we strive to enable a food system that is sustainable, just, equitable, and healthful while giving consumers the foods they crave. In other words, we’d like to have our steak, and eat it, too.
