Ajay Bhalla

Ajay Bhalla is the President of Cyber & Intelligence (C&I) and is a member of the company’s global management committee.
Under Ajay’s leadership, C&I deploys cutting-edge technologies that strengthen Mastercard’s position at the forefront of tech innovation. These span a range of capabilities, including AI-enabled fraud prevention technology that keeps global financial networks safe, biometrics that enable consumer authentication across a range of modalities, and the ubiquitous “one tap” contactless payment experience.
By rooting innovation in security, C&I allows people to interact with certainty, building trust in the technology at the heart of our increasingly digital and hyper-connected world. Ajay focuses on the alignment of consumer experience and security, and has executed a series of strategic acquisitions to expand C&I’s core capabilities.
Previously, Ajay was president of Mastercard’s Digital Payment Services business, where he led the development and growth of the business in e-commerce and payments processing, establishing Mastercard as a pioneer and leader in many markets in this space. Prior to this, Ajay was president of Mastercard for South Asia and Southeast Asia, leading the business across 18 markets. During his tenure, Mastercard became a market leader in many segments and launched several innovative payments solutions. Before joining Mastercard, Ajay held leadership positions at HSBC and Xerox.
Ajay is a CEME (Council on Emerging Market Enterprises) Senior Fellow at The Fletcher School, Tufts University and a Connection Science Fellow at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)..
