Sarah E.K. Fong is an Assistant Professor of Studies in Race, Colonialism, and Diaspora at Tufts University. She studies how nineteenth and twentieth century social welfare practices and educational institutions reproduced racial difference and settler colonial relations. Her current book project probes the relationship between self-making, anti-blackness, and settler colonialism in late-nineteenth century industrial boarding schools. Dr. Fong has published work in American Indian Culture and Research Journal, Amerasia Journal, and Postmodern Culture.
