About Us

Founded in April 2007, Tufts China Care is an independent, student-run club at Tufts University, and a recognized chapter under the OneSky Foundation, Inc. (Learn more about OneSky).

Our Mission!

Our mission is to provide for Chinese orphans who do not have the privilege to grow up in a family setting. With our efforts, we hope that these children will be able to receive individual care throughout their childhood, rather than being left under overcrowded institutionalized care. In our community, our mission is to empower young adoptees to learn about and connect to their heritage through a playgroup with culture lessons and food.

What We do!

We are a group of dedicated students working together to improve the lives of orphans living in the foster homes, orphanages and village programs under the One Sky Foundation. These children usually face little hope to be adopted due to various reasons, including but not limited to special medical conditions, age, and gender. We usually support through bubble tea sales, dances and other fundraising events but are shifting and adapting with the new normal this school year. For our immediate community, we strive to help local Chinese adoptees connect with their birth culture through our program, Dumplings Playground, and aim to raise awareness on campus for international adoption and the situation in China in regards to abandoned children.
