RA for Rising Powers and Climate Security Research – Summer 2021

Position: Research Assistant for Rising Powers and Climate Security Research – Summer 2021 

The Fletcher School research project on Rising Power Alliances examines how rising power alignments, especially the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa), impact the United States and its role in global governance. We are looking for a Research Assistant to help with various aspects of our summer research including examining policy documents, interviews, preparing papers for publication, website updates, and other tasks. While most of the research will be on rising power policies and climate security, the Research Assistant will work as an integral part of our research group and will be exposed to a wide range of projects. Desired background/expertise: 1) background in environment/climate change, security studies or international negotiation and conflict resolution; 2) strong communication and writing skills, prior research experience preferred; 3) precision with data and ability to meet deliverables in the right format and on time. Prior experience with foreign and defense policies of US and BRICS countries and knowledge of Russian, Portuguese or Mandarin are welcome but not required.  

Commitment needed: full time (35 hours per week) from early May – end of August (start and end dates are flexible, minimum 3-month commitment).
