How has the Fletcher alumni network been helpful to you? I love being part of the Fletcher alumni network. My classmates are constant sources of support and encouragement, and more senior Fletcher alums have gone out of their way to mentor me and to introduce me to their friends and colleagues. I’m looking forward to many years of being able to pay it forward.
What was your favorite class at Fletcher and why? My two favorite classes at Fletcher were Professor Bhide’s “Starting New Ventures” and “Managing the Growing Enterprise,” neither of which I expected to take when I first came to Fletcher. These courses helped me foster a healthy skepticism for the stories we tell about business success in retrospect — it turns out that success is much more rare and unpredictable than we like to acknowledge. It may be counter-intuitive, but this lesson about uncertainty made me feel more confident in crafting my own approach to building a company.
