On Jan 1 2023 I was appointed Professor Emeritus. In my view this is not retirement, but a change in focus. I am using my new found time to revisit a topic from my earlier research in photorefractive nonlinear optics, building fast beam propagation code in Python for potential applications in, for example, deep learning.
