How to Install ArcMap (ArcGIS Desktop) on your Windows Personal Computer from home
This guide includes information on how to install ArcMap 10.7.1 on your Windows OS. It also goes through the process of downloading/installing/running the VPN, connecting to H, M, S Network Drives and connecting to these folders within ArcMap.
ArcMap is available on the Tufts Virtual Desktop Interface (VDI). See instructions below on how to use ArcMap on the VDI.

This guide includes information on how to download and install VMWare Fusion and Windows 10 on your Mac OS. It also goes through the process of installing ArcMap 10.7.1 within Windows OS, downloading/installing the VPN and mapping network drives and connecting to folders in ArcMap. These two guides include information on how to install ArcGIS Pro on your Windows OS or Mac OS. If you have a mac, but have already installed VMware and Windows successfully, follow the guide for a Windows computer. It also goes through the process of downloading/installing/running the VPN, connecting to H, M, S Network Drives and connecting to these folders within ArcGIS Pro. How to access and install ENVI from home
If you are interested in using ENVI’s remote sensing software for class or research, please email the DataLab-Support@elist.tufts.edu to request access to the software for your Windows or Mac computer. ENVI is also available on the Tufts Virtual Desktop Interface (VDI).

How to access and install GeoDa from home
This folder provides a guide on how to install GeoDa for your personal computer. It is available on both a Mac and PC and both installers are included in this link. Geoda is available on the Tufts Virtual Desktop Interface (VDI).

How to access and install SPSS from home
TTS has worked with IBM to receive a limited number of student SPSS license to install on your personal computer for free. These licenses will be active until June 1, 2020. To receive a temporary SPSS license for class or research, contact TTS Service desk by emailing IT@tufts.edu or calling 617-627-3376. SPSS is also available on the Tufts Virtual Desktop Interface (VDI).

This guide provides information on how to install Python on your Mac OS or Windows personal computer. It also provides information for getting started and using python and using Python on the Tufts Compute Research Cluster. Python is also available on the Tufts Virtual Desktop Interface (VDI).

How to access and install R and RStudio from home
This guide provides information on how to install R and RStudio on your Mac OS, Linux or Windows personal computer. It also provides information for getting started using R and RStdudio. R and RStudio are also available on the Tufts Virtual Desktop Interface (VDI).

How to access and install SAS at home
This guide provides information on how to install SAS on your Windows personal computer. It also provides information for getting started using SAS and how to use SAS on the Tufts Compute Cluster. SAS also offers free student editions online if you need the Mac or Linux version. Visit their website here to choose the right product for you. SAS is available on the Tufts Virtual Desktop Interface (VDI).

How to access and install Stata at home
If you are in a course that is currently using Stata, email Dianne Silva to request a free student edition. For additional information on accessing Stata at home for research, view our guide on where to purchase a student edition of Stata. The guide also has information on using Stata on the Tufts compute cluster and learning resources. Stata is also available on the Tufts Virtual Desktop Interface (VDI).

This guide provides information on how to install MatLab on your personal computer. It also provides information for getting started and using MatLab on the compute cluster. MatLab is available on the Tufts Virtual Desktop Interface (VDI).

How to access and install DNaSP v6 and MEGA7 from home
These 2 guides give instructions on installing software used in the Bio143 Evolutionary Biology class. This software is not available on the VDI.

How to access and install Microsoft Office 365
This link provides students with information on how to download Microsoft Office products on their personal computers (windows and Mac). It does not include Publisher or Access, which are only available on Tufts Virtual Desktop Interface (VDI).
