Volunteer Opportunity with Y2Y

Y2Y Harvard Square, the nation’s first and only student-run youth homeless shelter, is looking for volunteers to help keep their space open.

Open from June 10th – August 8th, the Y2Y Summer Shelter provides enriching experiences for their volunteers, enabling them to learn more about homelessness and resources to combat it. With flexible shifts and an exceptionally-welcoming community, Y2Y eagerly looks forward to inviting students TUSDM to join our volunteering family.

We need YOU to help us stay open! If you’re staying in Boston this summer, please consider volunteering at one of our student-run homeless shelters to help provide shelter and resources to our Cambridge community members experiencing homelessness!

Harvard Square Homeless Shelter is a student-run homeless shelter serving adults experiencing homelessness in the Cambridge area. We house 16 men and women every night throughout the five and a half coldest months of winter.

Y2Y Harvard Square is a student-run homeless shelter and employs a youth-to-youth model to provide a safe and affirming environment for young adults experiencing homelessness.

We are especially seeking overnight and breakfast volunteers.

Please sign up to volunteer with HSHS or Y2Y by Friday, May 23rd if you want to be considered in our priority round.

See the HSHS and Y2Y volunteer handbooks for information about what each shift entails. Please reach out to hshs.volunteer@gmail.com or volunteer@y2yharvardsquare.org with any questions!
