Foundation of Leadership program- (FOL) program series -Eligible employees are allowed to attend an extended program designed to further develop management/leadership skills.

Technology Skills /Office Skills

Tufts Technology Services (TTS)  – TTS provides free Instructor-led Application software training to faculty and staff on all three campuses. https://it.tufts.edu/

TUSK – Tufts University Sciences Knowledgebase: Tufts University Hirsh Health Sciences Library, with the support of the Medical, Dental, and Veterinary schools, has created a dynamic multimedia knowledge management system (TUSK) to support faculty and students in teaching and learning.  TUSK provides a portal to an integrated body of knowledge and ways to personally organize the vast array of health information through its online curricular materials and related applications. http://tusk.tufts.edu/

Tufts Learning Center – This site lets faculty and staff know about upcoming in person and online courses and training on topics ranging from Microsoft Office products, administrative skills, to project management, to name a few. https://access.tufts.edu/tufts-learning-center

Lynda.com – Online. TTS Training and Documentation is pleased to offer Lynda.com licenses to faculty and staff to access Lynda’s trove of online trainings. https://it.tufts.edu/lyndacampus

AxiUm – Location: Boston and eight satellite Dental Clinics located throughout the state of Massachusetts.axiUm is an Electronic Health Record (EHR) technology software The software allows the Dental school to manage all aspects of their clinical, financial and student operation. https://www.exansoftware.com/axium/

Canvas – Canvas is Tufts University’s open-source, learning management system that offers faculty and students a collaborative online environment to support teaching and learning. https://login.canvas.tufts.edu/

 

Lab and Safety Training

OSHA – Location: Online. Occupational Safety and Health Administration Workplace Safety training. Provides training and education in occupational safety and health; held annually, in person for staff members and online for faculty. https://viceprovost.tufts.edu/ehs-trainings  

CPR – Location: Boston. Basic Life Support training and certification is commonly required of health care and other working professionals whose job positions place them at risk for needing to provide CPR to a co-worker, patient or visitor. This training is held in the fall and spring; online portion and classroom portion with manikin. HIPAA – The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 gives patients a right to privacy and governs the use of protected health information (PHI) in research and clinical care.Those interested in HIPAA training, please email Jill Leclare (Jill.Leclare@tufts.edu) for more details and visit the Dental Policies site for more information on TUSDM’s HIPAA policies. https://dentalpolicies.tufts.edu/

OEO Compliance Training –  In compliance with University policy and federal/state regulations, Tufts requires all university “agents” to participate in sexual harassment-prevention training. http://oeo.tufts.edu/training/

Staff Tuition Reimbursement Program – Eligible Full-time Staff Employees will be reimbursed for 100% of approved tuition costs up to a maximum of $4,000 in a fiscal year (July 1st to June 30th). https://access.tufts.edu/get-work-done/benefits-resources/benefit2018/other2018/staff-tuition-nxtyr

Business Skills – Develop skills to enhance the quality of customer interactions, hosting a meeting, and more. Foundations of Administrative Support – Location: All Tufts campuses. Jobs in the administrative job family requires many organizational skills and knowledge to navigate Tufts University processes and systems. The FAST program covers the following topics: Technology, Tufts Support Services (TSS), Meeting and Event Planning, and eServe and Performance Development delivered by knowledgeable faculty from these functional areas.  You will benefit from the opportunity to network, learn about new developments and discuss best practices. 2 full days. Pet Owner Education –Location: Grafton. Clinicians know how to best deal with the common and uncommon complaints your pet might face. Tufts Marathon Team Volunteer – Location: Boston. The Boston Athletic Association (BAA) has allotted Tufts an exclusive number of volunteer spots on Marathon Day. Volunteering at the Marathon is a great opportunity to participate in this historic Boston tradition. Your service on race day provides all runners, including your fellow Jumbos, with the support they need to finish the 26.2-mile course. Free. More information to be announced.

Eco-Ambassador Program – Through an education- and action-focused curriculum, the Eco-Ambassador (EA) program provides participants with the resources, skills, and knowledge necessary to effect change, serve as leaders, and promote sustainable behaviors both in their offices and in the larger Tufts community. Using the tools, information, and competencies developed during sessions facilitated by the Tufts Office of Sustainability, Eco-Ambassadors lead departmental efforts to implement, and educate colleagues about, environmentally sustainable practices and receive ongoing resources and support from the Office of Sustainability. Service: Because of size, the Tauber Center offers membership only to staff who are Boston Campus employees who are benefits eligible per our HR department, will be eligible for gym memberships.Hours for staff usage will be 6am-2pm daily and 12pm-7pm on weekends. $25 per month.
