Abstract:

The Tufts Dance for Healthy Aging with Parkinson’s Disease program lacked a structured framework to guide planning, implementation, and evaluation. This project aimed to develop a comprehensive program manual to improve consistency, sustainability, and support integration into the OT curriculum. Methods involved reviewing past materials, collaborating with stakeholders, drawing from prior participation and a current leadership role, and incorporating feedback from multiple sources. The deliverables included a program manual detailing procedures and a centralized digital folder containing templates, checklists, and key resources. Eight reviewers provided feedback using a rubric evaluating clarity, usefulness, accuracy, and thoroughness. Results indicated the manual was clear, easy to follow, and useful for event planning. This project strengthens program organization, promotes student engagement, and supports arts-based experiential learning in OT education.
