Abstract:
Unemployment is a risk factor and consequence of substance misuse; adults who experience both are at greater risk for deleterious psychosocial outcomes. Vocational interventions are commonly offered in addiction recovery programs to address these comorbidities. This scoping review aimed to clarify the impact of work-skills programs on the employment and socioemotional well-being of adults in substance use recovery. The eight studies analyzed generally indicate that work-skills training promotes job attainment and positively influences socioemotional health.”
