Hello and welcome to the

Virtual Poster Session

for the Tufts Pre-College Engineering Design Lab!

Over the past two weeks, students from around the world have been exploring the fundamentals of robotics and computation as part of our Tufts Pre-College Engineering Design Lab. Meeting virtually in the midst of a global pandemic, we looked at topics from sensing and motors to machine learning and computer vision.  We had an amazing group of students who have worked really hard to bring together the final projects that you will see presented here today. They selected their own project directions and took those ideas from concept to prototype.

Along the way, we heard broader perspectives from a great group of guest speakers —  engineering disciplinary experts including academic faculty and engineers working in a variety of roles in the industry and with start-ups. Students worked with a small Raspberry Pi-powered robot and experimented with powerful professional tools including Python, OpenCV, Jupyter Notebooks, and AirTable.

I invite you to take a look at what they achieved during this short time. Thank you for coming,

Jennifer Cross, Ph.D.
