School Garden Volunteer (Somerville)

We have an exciting opportunity for Tufts students interested in outdoor education and teaching K-12 students about growing food and tending to the environment.

Groundwork Somerville is an urban agriculture non-profit that maintains Somerville’s only urban farm and all of the school gardens across Somerville. Our mission is to build a greener, healthier, more equitable and climate-resilient Somerville. This fall, we are looking for college students/young adults who are interested in consistently volunteering during school garden lessons (2 hours a week). Once a week, school garden volunteers would support the School Garden Teacher in garden lesson activities and engage with students from the grades of Pre-K to 8th grade as they learn about the environment in their school garden. No experience or preparation is needed!

Please fill out this form if you are interested and feel free to email Tufts alumna and Youth Program Manager Kenzie Ballard at kenzie@groundworksomerville.org if you have any questions or for more information. We are looking forward to connecting with you. 🙂
