What is ORCID?
ORCID stands for “Open Researcher and Contributor ID”. According to the ORCID website, “ORCID provides a persistent digital identifier that distinguishes you from every other researcher and, through integration in key research workflows such as manuscript and grant submission, supports automated linkages between you and your professional activities ensuring that your work is recognized.”

ORCID Membership and the Project
Tufts recently signed up for an agreement for an ORCID institutional membership as part of this project in conjunction with the Office of the Provost and the libraries for each school. ORCID will be configured in Elements for the pilot roll-out.
