What is Symplectic Elements?

Elements is a software system used by research institutions to collect, understand, and showcase their scholarly activities. The software system is produced and supported by a London based company called Symplectic.

At Tufts University, we are populating our instance of Elements with:

  • Basic directory Information about faculty.
  • Publication data that is automatically harvested based on a researcher’s unique identifier (i.e. Scopus ID, ORCID ID).
  • Teaching activities from Tufts University’s Student Information System.
  • Grants data from our grants management system

Data from these sources will be the basis of the public facing faculty profile.
