What’s Happening at EPCS?

Community Discussion Groups

EPCS Community Disscusion Groups are formed to engage families in conversation, collaborative learning, and fun. The Director and a parent lead the process. The groups bring together adults in the EPCS community to explore topics of mutual interest. Each group is co-facilitates by a parent and an EPCS teaching staff. The groups formally meet twice a year but may add more times. In the past years, groups have covered topics such as Gender and Parenting, Special Rights, Creativity in Children, Diversity, and Inclusion, Balancing Family and Work, Technology and Young Children and Healthy Living.

The topics for Community Discussion Groups this year where the following:

  • How to Have Difficult Discussions with Children.
  • Building Healthy Friendships.
  • Exploring Issues of Diversity Through Children’s Books
  • Respecting Discipline and Healthy Limits
