Internship Description

Brown Advisory is seeking an intern to assist with environmental company analysis and research for our Sustainability Open Architecture strategy.  This internship will be an 8 to 12 week program located in our Boston, Massachusetts office with somewhat flexible hours, although this is ideally a full time internship.

Responsibilities of the internship include, but are not limited to:

  • An in depth analysis of the environmental characteristics of companies included in the S&P 500 index
  • Completing due diligence on a variety of financial asset management teams external from Brown Advisory
  • Writing reports on manager research to be submitted to our internal Open Architecture team
  • General research on history and growth of Sustainability Investing
  • Assisting Boston office team members and the Sustainable Investment team with a variety of short-term projects as needed

Internship Requirements

  • Completed BA/BS or students in their Junior year and above working towards a BA/BS in Environmental Science, Finance, Economics or a related field.
  • Knowledge, interest, and/or understanding of environmental investing.
  • Superior written and communication skills are a must.
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong work ethic with team commitment and experience.
