The Human-Environment Systems Initiative (http://hes.boisestate.edu/) at
Boise State University is hiring a PhD or MS student to conduct
interdisciplinary research on land use, conservation, climate change, and
ecosystem services in the Intermountain West. The student will pursue a
degree in Geosciences at Boise State, and will be funded by an NSF project
on coupled human-environment systems in Idaho
(https://www.idahoecosystems.org). A strong background in landscape ecology,
GIS, remote sensing, and statistics will be an asset. The assistantship
provides a competitive stipend, tuition waivers and health insurance.
Initial funding is available for one year, and based on performance,
renewable for an additional year. Additional funding can be obtained from
external grants or teaching assistantships. Boise Idaho is a vibrant capital
