Cape Eleuthera Institute Internships
The Cape Eleuthera Institute (CEI) has a vibrant intern program designed to award
individuals the opportunity to learn about and contribute to all aspects of operating
a remote research and education facility. We provide an intellectually rigorous
atmosphere that allows new and returning members of our community to gain a
deeper understanding of research projects and visiting educational programs. CEI
also prioritizes professional development and networking with researchers from
across the globe.

Fall 2016 (August 21 – December 16) May 1, 2016
Fee: $900 per month. Includes shared accommodation in campus
dormitory, three meals a day on campus, airport transfers, laundry
facilities and internet access. Interns are able to enroll in SCUBA classes
at discounted rates and may have opportunity to experience kayaking,
community outreach and island exploration.
OUTDOOR EDUCATION INTERNSHIPS
Interns will assist with running outdoor education programs
for middle school and high school students at The Island
School/Cape Eleuthera Institute. This is a leadership role that
includes: organizing logistics, orientating participants to their
surroundings, teaching fish identification and basic marine
ecology courses, touring the island, snorkeling, creating
morning exercise programs, sea kayaking, community
outreach, camping, enforcing rules, dorm duties, and
monitoring the well being of students and their chaperones/
instructors.
MARINE RESEARCH INTERNSHIPS
By assisting with ongoing research, interns will gain valuable
hands-on field and lab research experience, as well the
opportunity to develop teaching and educational outreach
skills. Non-field based duties will include the maintenance
of field equipment and data entry and analysis. On occasions
Research Interns will also have the opportunity to assist
in the field or lab with other initiatives outside of their program.
