Undergraduate Research Opportunity: Evolution, Speciation, & Plant Biology at Arnold Arboretum
The Hopkins Lab of Harvard University is seeking undergraduates to contribute to ongoing plant biology research at Arnold Arboretum.

Location: 1300 Centre St Roslindale, Weld Hill Research Building at the Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University.
Project description and duties: Research in the lab focuses on speciation and adaptation in Phlox wildflowers. The lab is working on projects looking at mating incompatibilities in plants, hybridization between different species of plants and long-term selection experiments. Duties can include growing and taking care of plants, phenotyping them for different traits, imaging samples, and possible molecular laboratory work such as RNA/DNA extraction.
Skills required: No prior research experience is required. Some experience in biology or plant science would be helpful, but is not necessary.
Mentoring: The undergraduate researcher will be mentored by the PI in conjunction with two postdoctoral researchers in the lab.
Stipend: Opportunities for paid work following demonstrated commitment.
Course credit: Work may be performed for course credit for qualifying programs.
Number of hours: Can be negotiated. Minimum 6 hrs/week required for a paid position.
