Grant Manager Position at Renew Oceans

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Grant Manager will be based the at site location in Varanasi, India. He/she will be responsible for the successful management of a team of engineers, environmental scientists, communication specialists, and a governmental advisor for a 3-year funded pilot project by the Benioff Ocean Initiative. The grant manager will plan, implement and measure the impact of the pilot project with the team in India, and coordinate with our scientific advisors at University of California, Riverside.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Grant Manager will work in the following areas:
Team and Project Management
-Develop and manage processes to implement project priorities in a timely fashion,
-Coach, develop and work closely with the local team to meet objectives and deliverables,
-Manage any inputs and deliverables from senior management at Renew Oceans as well as Benioff donors to ensure project commitments are met in a timely fashion,
-Perform functions of financial administration and reporting from drafting project status reports to timely submission of any grant reports, including timely submission of any budgetary materials for reimbursement,
-Work closely with Renew Oceans communication team and PR agency on media campaigns and to effectively capture and communicate program impacts to wider audience, and…
-Participate in events organized by the Benioff Ocean initiative to share project results and insights with other grantees.
Education and Experience
-BSc Degree in relevant field, 3-5 years of work experience. MSc Degree is a plus.
-Proven work experience as a project manager.
-Excellent communication, writing, editing and presentation skills
-Knowledge of basic grant management including accounting and financial reporting.
-Strong time management and organizational skills.
-Passionate about environment, international development; field experience is a plus.
