Program Coordinator at Florida International University Institute of Environment

The Florida International University Institute of Environment is currently recruiting a Program Coordinator to join our team of professionals in Miami, Florida. Duties will consist of managing the day-to-day activities and mission functions of the Costal Ecosystem Research Experience for Undergraduate (REU) Site and assist with the CREST Center for Aquatic Chemistry & Environment (CREST CAChE). Specific duties will include: 

  • Manages the training, reporting and logistics for Coastal Ecosystems REU Site and assist with CREST Center for Aquatic Chemistry & the Environment (CREST CAChE) project.
  • Manages staff, temporary employees and students working for Coastal Ecosystems REU Site
  • Receive, review and select all applications for Coastal Ecosystem REU site program.  Organize student onboarding including travel, housing, and student research stipend logistics as well as mentoring and administering seminars, field tours, and professional development sessions for Coastal Ecosystems REU Site
  • Works closely with Program Manager in cross-institutional teams in support of the CREST Center for Aquatic Chemistry & the Environment (CREST CAChE) mission and help enhance collaborative partnerships that foster the research, education, and overall goals of the program.
  • Works closely with project leadership, coordinate and support research and education activities, facilitate collaboration and communication among CREST Center for Aquatic Chemistry & the Environment (CREST CAChE) and Coastal Ecosystems REU Site
  • Develops and maintains tools required to track all project records, and communicate findings, participant activities and project achievements using a variety of tools including web-based products and social media for Coastal Ecosystems REU Site
  • Assure compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and standards
  • Coordinates, supports, and organizes internal and external outreach activities, brochure, flyers and web-based products for Coastal Ecosystems REU Site, CREST and Sea Level Solutions Center (SLSC)
  • Consult with PIs and other program staff on implementing programs, new initiatives, and special projects for Sea Level Solutions Center (SLSC)
  • Serves as the University Credit Card user for departmental transactions. Adheres to University rules and regulations.
