UMiami Marine and Atmospheric Science Graduate Degrees
My name is Dr. Josh Coco and I’m looking to pass some info on to Tufts University about our PhD, MS, and Master of Professional Science degrees for the University of Miami’s Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences. I am more than happy to chat about Fall recruitment, Zoom with students/classes/clubs, or anything that may help students who are planning for graduate school (for Fall 2021 and beyond). Here is some info below you can pass on to students who may be interested (including waiving the GRE requirement for all programs):
My name is Josh Coco and we wanted to let you know that apps are still open for the Master of Professional Science degree at the University of Miami (PhD and MS have closed for Fall 2021, but will reopen for Fall 2022 in September – check this link for list of assistantships: https://graduate.rsmas.miami.edu/admissions/phd-assistanships/index.html ). Our Master of Professional Science degree (take the same courses as Ph.D. and MS students, but instead of a thesis/dissertation, you do an internship/research in the field with organizations such as NOAA, NPS, NGOs, etc. and 94% of students have a job in the field 6 months after graduation) has rolling admission until June for international students and July for domestic. We are also waiving the GRE for Fall 2021 and beyond (tuition waivers will be based on GPA only). I have listed all 14 tracks below, however, several are filling up and currently only have a waitlist for Fall 2021 start (we will re-evaluate waitlist after April 16th):

In an effort to support the
University’s diversity, equity and inclusion efforts, the Rosenstiel
School’s Master of Professional Science is offering 4 Rosenstiel
Opportunity Scholarships of 24-credits each (allowing a student
to earn the last 6 credits through merit based waivers) by providing
scholarships for high achieving students from historically underserved
or underrepresented populations and/or socio-economically disadvantaged
backgrounds who are entering graduate school
at the Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science. The
scholarship deadline has passed for Fall 2021 (March 15th), but will reopen for Fall 2022.
