Food Network Volunteer

by Maya J. Sze on December 2, 2021

Hi Dr. Gomez!
I hope you’re doing well and have exciting plans for Christmas break. I’m Qinyi, a sophomore student at Tufts currently working in Open Food Network, an open-source platform that encourages shorter, ethical food chains. For a few months since summer, I’ve been working remotely as a marketing assistant, and I’ve been really enjoying the experience. OFN is looking to grow and find more student volunteers, so I’m wondering if you could put the word out to students in the ENV department? Here’s more info about it:
“The Open Food Network (OFN) seeks to create shorter, more sustainable food networks. OFN is an open-source platform where food producers, wholesalers, and consumers can come together to create a virtual farmers’ market, building a resilient local food economy. Find out more about the non-profit at https://www.openfoodnetwork.org

Currently, OFN is seeking student volunteers to help in marketing, advertising, and communications. This is a valuable opportunity, especially for those interested in food systems, to take part in the frontline efforts and address the deeply flawed system that feeds us. Work is highly flexible. Contact laurie@openfoodnetwork.net if you’re interested in this role.”
Thank you so much, Dr. Gomez! I look forward to hearing back from you, Qinyi
