Research Technician
Interested in entomology, agroecology, and native pollinators? Join the Kaplan Insect Ecology Lab at Purdue University! We are hiring a research technician to provide laboratory support for an ongoing project investigating the impacts of landscape management on the diversity of native insect pollinators and plant communities. The technician will be primarily responsible for cleaning, sorting, and pinning insect samples collected at field sites. Other duties may include data entry, sample management, insect identification, and potentially assisting with project setup related to other research as needed.
Ideal applicants will have working knowledge of entomology and/or ecology, have a strong work ethic, and display good attention to detail and organization. Prior research experience is strongly desired. Pay rate will be $16-18/hour, based on qualifications and prior experience, 40 hours per week. We are looking to hire ASAP for a short-term, temporary placement (approx. 4 months), with the potential to extend the position based on performance and research needs.
