Web-scraping Opportunity: Sustainable Development Project

by Ivara J. Roth on March 13, 2019

Professor Deborah Sunter is looking for a Tufts student to help with a web-scraping project on sustainable development.

Description: There are many ways to measure sustainable development. The World Bank has been measuring over three hundred sustainable development indicators with data dating back to 1960. The attention that the scientific community has placed on these indicators varies regionally and over time. To quantify these variations, we are collecting a large corpus of scientific literature related to sustainable development.

We are looking for students with experience in web-scraping to assist in the collection of the scientific literature.

The position is available immediately with flexible hours. The compensation is $15/hour with the potential for authorship if the student shows dedication to the project and substantially contributes to the different research stages.

Interested students should contact Professor Deborah Sunter at Deborah.Sunter@tufts.edu to schedule an interview and further discuss the details of this opportunity. Please write “Web-scraping Opportunity: Sustainable Development Project” in the email subject line so that your email can be appropriately directed.
