OPPORTUNITIES IN ENVIRONMENTAL AND PUBLIC HEALTH ACTIVISM

Ashley Brown, a Campus Organizer with the Student PIRGs, will be on campus on Wed. February 26 and Thurs. February 27th to run campaign events with student leaders to fight climate change, reduce plastic pollution, and register students to vote. Students interested in opportunities to volunteer, apply for a spring semester internship, or interview for a full-time position post-graduation should read on and apply or contact Ashley at abrown@masspirgstudents.org.

INTERNSHIPS:Climate change is one of the biggest problems facing our generation. There are plenty of ways to reduce our carbon emissions and phasing out fossil fuels as quickly as possible is not only necessary – it’s possible. Intern with MASSPIRG on our campaign for our 100% Renewable Energy Campaign or one of our other initiatives to protect the environment, increase the youth vote, or make college more affordable. Fill out this internship application form to learn more

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES (for graduating seniors):Students are often at the forefront of movements to build a better future for our country. Whether or not they make real progress depends on whether they’re organized, have the skills to be effective, and have a strategic plan to get things done. The Student PIRGs have been hiring Campus Organizers for over 30 years to amplify the power of student activism, and help students make real change, right now. Last year, Campus Organizers worked with students to accomplish a lot: helping pass California’s 100% clean electricity bill, SB100, by lobbying over 30 state assemblymen & collecting over 20,000 petitions, passing plastic bag and foam container bans in Connecticut, Maine, and Maryland, increasing youth voter turnout in the midterm elections by collecting over 40,000 students voter registrations and pledges to vote, and training tens of thousands of volunteers to take action!
We all want to live meaningful lives in a world that’s greener and healthier. We’re hiring people to help students get organized, mobilized, and energized to make that vision a reality.
